Melee handled Madd City 29-12 in the first of two tough games this week and then took down Dirty Sprite on Wednesday with a 35-13 beat down to move back into the #1 Ranking. QB Mike Matkovitch picked apart the Dirty Sprite defense with short routes and then dropped a couple of bombs that blew up any chance Dirty Sprite had of mounting a comeback. Melee is #1 again and it looks like they plan to stay there.

Dirty Sprite showed up short-handed for their Wednesday night showdown with Motor City Melee and ended up on the short side of a 35-13 score to fall out of the #1 spot. It's hard to beat good teams in this league and it's even harder without a full squad. The Purple Gang will bounce back from this one and it's a good possibility these two teams will meet again in the championship game.

Madd City still has the intensity but lacked the offense to hang with Melee in a 29-12 loss this week. They'll get it sorted out and when they do they'll be challenging for the league title again. We'll see if they're for real when they take on Pull Out Kings next week.
Pullout Kings

Pull Out Kings started slow and found themselves in a battle with the scrappy Wild Bunch but a big, and better, second half paved the way to a 34-12 win. They'll definitely need to be more consistent against nemesis Madd City next week in a game I know both teams are looking forward to.

The old gang showed they can still hang with the young bucks as they take down the Legends 34-14 to even their record at 2-2. We had first this week....QB Brad Quackenbush beat somebody and didn't talk them to death afterward. Road House draws a BYE next week before taking on a strong Madd City team when they return.
Wild Bunch

The Wild Bunch were all over the field and all over the Pull Out Kings in an evenly played first half but came out of the break flat and quickly fell behind eventually losing 33-12 in a game that should've been a lot closer. Wild Bunch is another team that's gaining valuable experience playing in the American Division after winning a Silver Bracket Championship last year.

The Legends fall again this week 34-14 to Road House in a game that was clear to anyone watching that experience made the difference. The Legends have youth and talent but are lacking leadership and experience. Once they get on the same page things will start to click for them. It's a tough schedule in the American Division but it's the "better competition" they asked for after a lopsided opening night win. They'll definitely be in the Silver Bracket Playoffs where the experience they're gaining now will pay off for them.
